Lip Plumping & Shaping

How is this done?

Lip plumping and shaping is achieved by injecting filler along the lip margin (vermillion border) and into the body of the lip until the desired shape and lip volume is attained. There are a variety of injection techniques that can be used, for example we can run filler behind the lips to enhance pout.

Does it hurt?

Absolutely not. After a couple of injections like you get from your dentist, both lips will be entirely numb. Work will not commence until we are certain the lips are numb, so you can rest assured the procedure will be totally painless.

What filler do you use?

We use hyaluronic acid fillers e.g. Restylane, Restylane Lipp. Unlike collagen sourced off a dead cow or pig, these fillers are naturally occurring in the human body, so no allergy testing is required.

Any side effects?

The lips will be initially swollen or possibly bruised but this usually subsides within 48 hours. Certainly by the time we do our 2 week check all swelling and bruising will have gone.

Will I look like Lesley Ash?

No way! By using natural fillers and a 2 stage procedures we ensure a natural looking result every time.

How long does it last?

Initially 6 months (less if you smoke) but subsequent treatments may last 9 months to 1 year.

What about gummy smiles and lip lines?

We can improve the appearance of gummy smiles using small quantities of botulinum toxin in the top lip. This will also help lip lines, although filling the lines is usually preferable.
